Spectator Information & FAQs

We look forward to welcoming you to Vasatorps Golf Club for the 2024 Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed. If you have any unanswered questions, please check out our Spectator Information and FAQs.

Tournament Format

Date:
Thursday 6th June - Sunday 9th June 2024.

Field:
156 Players. Split between 78 DP World Tour golfers and 78 Ladies European Tour golfers.

Format:
The tournament will be a 72-hole stroke play event. The field will play one round on each of the first two days, after which the leading 65 players (and those who tie for 65th place) will go forward to the third and fourth rounds. In the event of a tie for the first place there will be a hole-by-hole play-off. For the first two rounds DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour players will be paired together with all groups either containing one DP World Tour player and two Ladies European Tour players or vice versa.

Prize Presentation:
The Prize Presentation will be held on the on the 18th green, upon the conclusion of play. (Approximately 17:00 - 17:30) on Sunday 9th June.

Prize Money:
Prize fund $2,000,000.

Television Broadcast:
The 2024 Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed will be broadcast live on SKY SPORTS, TV10, Viasat Golf and Viaplay in Sweden.

Travel & Parking

Spectators travelling by car can park in the Public Car Park for 100,00 SEK (click here to purchase). Parking for the event will be at Hjortshögsvägen 14, 254 64 Helsingborg, please follow the signage “Golftävling”. From the public car park, you can take a free shuttle into the venue, or walk approximately 15 minutes, guided by our friendly event staff. Public car park opens at 6:45am and closes at 8:00pm.

We welcome cyclists who support efforts to ‘Go Green’! In Car Park 3, we have provided a designated area to lock up bicycles. Spaces will not be allocated and are first come first served. Please note all bicycles are left at your own risk.

There will also be public buses running every 30 minutes from Helsingborg Station Thursday – Sunday.

Thursday 6th June – Sunday 9th June: 6:45am – 11:15am RETURN 2pm – 7pm.

Welcome Tent

We have a Welcome Tent at the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed by the main entrance to Vasatorps Golfklubb. The Welcome Tent there will be the following facilities:

Spectator's Etiquette

Remain still for each shot and do not move until all the Players in the group have played or holed out.

Kneel or sit down if you are in the front row. Consider other spectators when using an umbrella.

Do not speak to the players while they are on the course.

Please keep behind the ropes and barriers on the course and use the official crossing points.

Walk, don’t run, and obey the course marshals – they are trying to make your day more enjoyable.

There is no dress code in public areas.

Dress accordingly for the weather conditions. Sensible shoes should be worn. No metal spikes allowed.

Due to social distancing, spectators are prohibited from asking for player autographs.

Please listen to any public address announcements and follow instructions from officials and volunteers should they be necessary.

Course

Spectators can move freely around the golf course but please stay outside the ropes. Controlled crossing points, which are clearly marked by signposts and manned by course Marshals, should be used when crossing fairways.

Evacuation Procedure

If it is necessary to evacuate the site, please follow the instructions of the course marshals, volunteers, and event officials in an orderly fashion.

Pro-Am

The Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed Pro-Am takes place on Wednesday 5th of June. The course will be closed to spectators on this day.

Practice

The practice days prior to the event days are closed to the public. The event is open to the public from Thursday to Sunday. Tickets will be checked from Thursday and onwards.

The practice range is located next to the 18th green, please follow the signage to the practice area to watch your favourite golfers practice. The putting green is located next to the Championship Village and the short game area for pitching and bunker play is located past the putting green.

Marshals

The Chief Marshal and team will be managing the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed volunteer programme. The Marshals are extremely influential in helping to ensure that play runs smoothly. The purpose of a Marshal is to ensure that the competitors can compete under the best conditions. Many of the marshals have volunteered at a number of other golf events across the country and have a good understanding of the appropriate golfing etiquette.

Phone Charging

There are no phone charging stations.

Merchandise

The Club’s merchandise shop inside the clubhouse will be open for members of the public.

Water

We encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottles but there will be water to purchase at all the public catering areas.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

No picnics / picnic hampers allowed. Alcoholic beverages are also not permitted to be brought into the venue.

Public Catering & On-Course Catering

There is public catering located within the Championship Village, 14th and 17th areas offering a variety of food and drink. All food and drink outlets will be cashless and contactless payments will be accepted.

On-Course Toilet Facilities

There are public toilet facilities provided in the public car park, Championship Village, 2nd Hole, 14th Hole, and 17th Hole.

Grandstand

Free Spectator grandstand seating is available in the following locations:

17th Grandstand - 228 Seats are provided on a first come first served basis by the 17th Green.

Please note: No smoking in the grandstands or viewing platforms. Alcohol will be permitted on the grandstands at this event. Spectators are kindly asked not to stand up on the stands during play. Dedicated wheelchair viewing will be positioned in selected roped off areas around course.

Additional Seating

There are seating areas located in the Championship Village surrounding the food outlets, big screen, and exhibitions.

Leaderboard

There are digital leaderboards on holes 5, 9, 15, 16, 17 and 18, and Big Screens in the Championship Village, and the 17th and 18th holes.

Championship Village

The Championship Village is where it’s all happening off the golf course and where you will find plenty of seating to relax. There will also be a big screen so there is no need to miss any of the golf. There will be fun activities for the whole family, and food and drink outlets ensuring that the golf course is not the only place where the action is happening.

Inclement Weather

Observe the leaderboards and big screens throughout the golf course for weather warning signs that will appear prior to inclement weather moving into the area. Spectators are advised to take precautions PRIOR to play being suspended. If the siren sounds, seek shelter immediately, avoiding the following: Open areas, Hilltops or high places, Isolated trees, Golf buggies and Wire fences

Clothing & What to Wear

It would be recommended to wear casual golf wear. The ground is uneven and particularly under wet conditions the ground may become slippery therefore appropriate footwear should be worn to avoid injury. Please check the weather forecast before you set off on your journey.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is not permitted in any structure, including outdoor balconies and viewing platforms.

Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is available for spectators throughout the Championship Village.

The use of Mobile Phones

The use of mobile phones is permitted but restricted to dedicated areas only, where event signage will refer to them as “mobile phone zones”. Only in these dedicated areas can calls be made or received, however phones must remain on silent at all times.

The use of any cameras, computers and other electronic equipment at the Tournament Thursday to Sunday is not permitted other than with the proper accreditation.

Making or distributing broadcasts, commentary, news reports, data, results or statistics by any means in any format or media including any such by mobile phone or other wireless device is not permitted.

Cameras

Cameras are NOT permitted on Tournament Days - Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Although, mobile phones are permitted on all four days of the event, the use of the camera facility is as per the above.

Accessibility

Personal Assistants:

If you require a personal assistant to attend an event with you, the DP World Tour offers a complimentary carer ticket to customers with a disability. Tickets can be ordered via our website or alternatively you can contact our customer service team by emailing ticketing@europeantourgroup.com. Proof of eligibility is required.

Are wheelchairs allowed on site at the Championship?:

Wheelchairs and other motorised chairs are allowed on the tournament grounds. A dedicated wheelchair roped off viewing area, will be positioned in selected areas around the course.

Toilet Facilities:

Accessible toilet facilities are in the public catering area in the Championship Village and within Vasatorps Clubhouse.

Is there a Public Crèche?

There will not be a public crèche at this event. There is a baby changing facility within the disabled toilet at the public village and within the toilet facilities within Vasatorps Clubhouse

Can I bring a child’s buggy/pushchair?

Yes, you can. However, please be aware of uneven terrain. Children should always be accompanied by an adult. The ground is uneven and particularly under wet conditions the ground may become slippery therefore appropriate footwear should be worn to avoid injury.

Are dogs permitted to the course?

Dogs are not permitted on the course with the exception of trained assistance guide dogs, and we respectfully suggest that you do not leave your pet in the car.

Medical First Aid

Full medical and first aid facility can be found before the Welcome Tent at Vasatorps. Should you require medical assistance whilst out on course, please ask a marshal or event official who can radio for assistance. Familiarise yourself with the location of First Aid stations and refreshment areas. On entry to the venue look for a map board, this will help you find exits, key facilities and provide other key information.

Lost Property

Lost property that has been found can be handed in to the nearest marshal, volunteer, event official and they will be stored within Championship Office in the clubhouse. All items will be delivered to the Championship Office at the end of each day.

Left Luggage

There will not be a left luggage facility at the event.

Can I bring a bag?

The DP World Tour encourages you to leave bags and rucksacks at home, however they will be permitted onsite following a thorough bag check. Bag checks will be in place across all tournament days for your safety.

Bicycles

Bicycle parking will be available at the public car park. Bicycles are left at your own risk. Please provide your own lock.

Volunteers

Interested in volunteering? The DP World Tour needs enthusiastic volunteers aged 18 and over to help with various aspects of the event. Not only will you be upfront and close to your favourite golfers, but you will also gain valuable skills and experience.
