The story behind... Justin Rose's driver on the 15th

In this latest series, we take a closer look at some of the stories behind the most talked about shots captured during the week. Here, find out what happened on the 15th hole, where Justin Rose was left taking driver from the bank after a wayward tee shot.

Justin Rose found himself with a near impossible challenge on the 15th hole during the third round of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Golf Club.

The former World Number One’s tee shot held onto the side of the bank of a red-staked hazard that runs up the right side of the fairway, leaving him with limited options around shot selection.

Unable to stand in the ditch, photographer Ross Kinnaird said Rose first deliberated with his caddie Gareth Lord over whether they should use a three-wood, but was unable to reach from one bank to another with the club.

Instead, they opted for driver, and Rose managed to advance it around 40 yards to the fairway, before salvaging a bogey.

Luckily, Ross was not only on hand to give us the lowdown but also capture the moment in spectacular style through a series of shots.
