Last month’s Genesis Championship marked the end of the Back 9, which produced a plethora of memorable moments and thrilling victories as players grasped the final opportunities to qualify for the DP World Tour Play-Offs. Many of those champions now set for a place in the fifth and final Rolex Series event of the season on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

Australian Lee, who won the opening event on the 2024 Race to Dubai at the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship, will make his fourth appearance at the season finalehaving finished inside the top 20 on each of his previous three starts.

The Back 9, which encompassed nine of the DP World Tour’s most historic tournaments and national Opens, started with the Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo on the iconic Brabazon Course at The Belfry and produced a first-time winner in Denmark’s Niklas Nørgaard.

The 31-year-old missed only four cuts in the 2024 season and converted his consistent form into a maiden victory in England. He now sits seventh on the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex as he heads into the Play-Offs with a chance to also secure dual membership on the PGA TOUR at the conclusion of the DP World Tour Championship.

Englishman Matt Wallace, who won his fifth DP World Tour title and first since 2018 at the Omega European Masters, will return to the season finale hoping to draw on good memories of the Earth Course.

The 33-year-old birdied every hole on the back nine at Jumeirah Golf Estates as he carded a career-best round of 60 on day three of last year’s DP World Tour Championship, and he will be joined by another former winner of the Omega European Masters, Thriston Lawrence, who cemented his place in the top ten of the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex after narrowly missing out on victory at the BMW PGA Championship after a play-off with Rory McIlroy and eventual winner Billy Horschel.

Denmark’s Rasmus Højgaard will be looking to emulate his brother Nicolai in the final Rolex Series event of the year. The 23-year-old won his fifth DP World Tour title in stunning fashion at the Amgen Irish Open in September, overcoming Race to Dubai leader McIlroy, and will be looking to add a second Højgaard name to the iconic septor trophy after Nicolai’s victory in 2023.

Angel Hidalgo will make his DP World Tour Championship debut after sealing his maiden title in emotional fashion at the acciona Open de Espana Presented by Madrid. The Spaniard went wire-to-wire at his national open and defeated two-time Major winner Jon Rahm in a play-off to claim his first DP World Tour victory.

Englishman Dan Bradbury will tee it up in Dubai for the second consecutive year, booking his place with victory at the FedEx Open de France. Le Golf National, the 2018 Ryder Cup venue, has witnessed many memorable moments through the years and Bradbury added to that list, birdieing three consecutive holes on the back nine to emerge from the pack and claim Continental Europe’s oldest national open.

The stage is set for a thrilling end to the Race to Dubai at the DP World Tour Championship, with four-time Major Champion McIlroy looking to win his sixth Race to Dubai crown, joining stars including Ryder Cup team-mates Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, Bob MacIntyre and Justin Rose, Rolex Series winner Horschel and Major champion Adam Scott on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
