World Number One George Groves came home in level par to fire an opening 77 and take the halfway lead at the EDGA Dubai Finale.
The 36 hole event features eight of the world's best Golfers with Disability and is taking place alongside the European Tour's season ending DP World Tour Championship, Dubai.
It is the second EDGA event taking place in conjunction with a Rolex Series event on the 2019 Race to Dubai after Groves finished second to Brendan Lawlor at the EDGA Scottish Open.
The Englishman has Erb’s Palsy, a condition which leaves him with 20 per cent strength in his left arm after a medical accident during birth, but that has not stopped him from rising to the top of the World Rankings for Golfers with Disability.
Groves turned in 41 with five bogeys but made birdies on the 11th and 15th to cancel out dropped shots on the tenth and 13th to lead the way at five over.
American Christopher Biggins - a professional at the Country Club of Birmingham, USA, who has cerebral palsy - fired an 80 to sit three shots off the lead and three ahead of countryman Chad Pfeifer, who birdied the 16th, and Ireland's Lawlor.
Frenchman Charles-Henri Quélin, Australian Geoff Nicholas and Swede Joakim Bjorkman rounded out the leaderboard, with England's Mike Browne - who had been second after a 79 - disqualified after signing for an incorrect score on the sixth.
