Everything you need to know from day one of the second Rolex Series event of 2022.
JB continued to dominate in Dubai, Andrea was on the comeback trail, Adam was seeking pins and everyone had Tiger on the brain on day one of the 2022 Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic.
Here is everything you need to know from Thursday at Emirates Golf Club.
JB jumps ahead
Joachim B. Hansen continued his remarkable run of form in Dubai as he fired an opening 65 to lead by one shot. The Dane won the AVIV Dubai Championship in November and the following week finished in the top ten at the DP World Tour Championship. Now, back in Dubai again, the two-time DP World Tour winner was blemish-free in getting to seven under to lead by one from South Africa's Justin Harding, who was on the 18th when play was ended for the day due to darkness.
Pavan paving a path back to the top
Andrea Pavan did not make a weekend for 12 months between August 2020 and 2021, finishing the 2021 season with a further five missed cuts. He returned home to Italy and after receiving support from his community and his coach, he achieved a tie for 25th last week, following that with six birdies and a single bogey on Thursday as his 2022 resurgence continued. "I didn't expect to play this well at Abu Dhabi or out here but I'm very pleased for how I'm handling the situation and how I've handled the last two years," he said.

That tee-shot
Along with the seventh green at Crans-sur-Sierre and the Swilcan Bridge, the eighth tee at Emirates Golf Club has to be the most taken photograph on the DP World Tour. And it's never hard to see why - what a view.
Magic from Morikawa
European Number One Collin Morikawa had one spectacular chip-in on day one.
In fact, he almost had two.
Spanish hands
Yes we say it all the time. Yes it's true. A deft touch from Sergio Garcia.
Pin seeker
Two holes - two hit pins. It was some start from Adam Scott on Thursday.

Everybody wants to be like Tiger
Tim Barter was on course asking players what they would choose if they could have any element of any player's game past or present. The answers were interesting, if not entirely surprising.

Tom Migliozzi
Guido Migliozzi was channelling his inner Tom Kite with his eyewear and there is nothing about it we don't love.
