Matteo Manassero qualifies for DP World Tour Play-Offs

After yet another impressive showing on the DP World Tour, Matteo Manassero has secured his place in the Play-Offs.

The Italian finished in a tie for fourth at the BMW PGA Championship on Sunday, earning himself 339.73 points on the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex and moving up four places to fifth on the season-long standings.

The result continues an incredible season for a man who became the DP World Tour's youngest winner in 2010 aged 17 and 188 days and added a further three titles over the next three seasons, culminating in a victory at Wentworth Club in 2013.

By his late 20s, however, he had dropped off Tour and even stopped playing golf altogether for a spell before rediscovering his passion for the game.

He graduated from the European Challenge Tour last season and found himself a DP World Tour winner again at the Jonsson Workwear Open, helping to earn his place in the top 70 and the season-ending Play-Offs, beginning at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

He joins the likes of Rory McIlroy, Robert MacIntyre, Tommy Fleetwood, Adam Scott, Justin Rose and Thriston Lawrence at Yas Links, with the top 50 after that event advancing to the second Play-Off event, the season-ending DP World Tour Championship.

The BMW PGA Championship was the third Rolex Series event of the season and fourth event of the Back 9, where there are increased Race to Dubai points on offer, with 5,000 available in each regular event – up from 3,000 during the Global Swings phase.

Players can qualify for the DP World Tour Play-Offs throughout the Back 9, as they earn enough points to guarantee their position in the top 70.
