Malcolm Mackenzie moved into the lead of the Novotel Perrier Open de France at Le Golf National to put himself on course for a first European Tour victory in his 509th event.
Sweden’s Mårten Olander equalled the European Tour record of eight consecutive birdies on his way to a five under par 67 to share the first round lead of the Novotel Perrier Open de France with local favourite Jean-Francois Remesy and the 2000 Champion Colin Montgomerie.
England’s Malcolm Mackenzie ended a 20 year wait for his first European Tour title when he played the shot of his life to set up a birdie for on the final hole at Le Golf National to win the Novotel Perrier Open de France by the narrowest margin.
South African Trevor Immelman produced the best round of his career to open up a four shot lead at the halfway stage of the Novotel Perrier Open de France at Le Golf National.
