Defending champion Luiten began the day with a two shot lead over local favourite and 2012 winner Wiesberger, was caught when he bogeyed the second after the Austrian had birdied the par five opener at Diamond Country Club.

Wiesberger then delighted the galleries by going in front with another gain at the third, but Luiten squared things at the fourth with a birdie of his own.

England’s Lee Slattery and Sweden’s halfway leader Mikael Lundberg were two shots adrift on eight under.
