• This victory beats his previous best 2012 performance of second in the Ballantine's Championship.
• His second consecutive top six finish, following his sixth place at the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles, seven days ago.
• Is the second consecutive Scottish winner on The European Tour, following Paul Lawrie at the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles.
• This is the first time two different Scottish golfers have won consecutive European Tour events since Andrew Coltart (2001 Great North Open) and Colin Montgomerie (2001 Murphy's Irish Open).
• Is also the first time Scotland have won consecutive European Tour events since Coltart and Montgomerie in 2001.
• Becomes only the second Scot to win the Omega European Masters, following Colin Montgomerie in 1996.
