• His first European Tour International Schedule victory in his 29th European Tour event.

• Could move to a career-high of fourth Official World Golf Ranking from 11th.

• This victory would beat his previous best European Tour performances of second in the 2011 US Open Championship and tied second in the 2011 Masters Tournament, 2012 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters and 2013 US Open Championship.

• His first victory in a World Golf Championship event.

• Victory comes in his 11th career WGC appearance.

• Victory comes in his fourth appearance in the WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship.

• This victory beats previous best performance in the event of third in 2013. (Reached the third round on his debut in 2011 and round two in 2012).

• This victory beats previous best overall WGC performance of third in the 2013 WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship.

• Becomes the second Australian to win the WGC – Accenture Match Play Accenture, following Geoff Ogilvy (2006 and 2009).

• Becomes the fourth different Australian to win a WGC event. He follows: Craig Parry (2002 WGC – Bridgestone Invitational), Geoff Ogilvy (2006 and 2009 WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship and 2008 WGC – Cadillac Championship) and Adam Scott (2011 WGC – Bridgestone Invitational).

• Joins Jeff Maggert (1999), Darren Clarke (2000), Steve Stricker (2001), Kevin Sutherland (2002), David Toms (2005), Geoff Ogilvy (2006), Henrik Stenson (2007), Ian Poulter (2010), Luke Donald (2011) and Matt Kuchar (2013), as players to make the WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship their first WGC victory.

• At aged 26 years and 103 days becomes the youngest winner of the WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship, beating the previous record of Tiger Woods, who was 27 years and 62 days in 2003.

• Becomes the 27th different player to win a WGC event in the 50th playing of an individual WGC event.

• Becomes the 13th different player to win the WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship in the 16th playing of the tournament.

• Becomes the 11th different player to make a WGC event their first European Tour victory.

• Becomes the third first-time winner of the 2014 season. They are: Morten Ørum Madsen (South African Open Championship hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni), George Coetzee (Joburg Open) and Jason Day (WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship).

• Becomes the first Australian to win on the 2014 European Tour International Schedule.

• The first Australian to win on The European Tour since Brett Rumford at the 2013 Volvo China Open.

• Becomes the 112th Australian win in European Tour history.

• Becomes the 38th different Australian to win on The European Tour.

• Gains a place in the 2014 WGC – Bridgestone Invitational and 2015 Volvo Golf Champions

• Gains his fourth win as a professional.
