• His final round of 62 (-10) is the lowest winning final round of the 2014 season, beating the 65 (-7) of Thomas Björn (Nedbank Golf Challenge).

• His four shot final round winning comeback equals the largest of the 2014 season set by George Coetzee (Joburg Open) and Thomas Aiken (Africa Open).

• His four shot final round winning comeback equals the largest in the Championship’s history, set by Thongchai Jaidee in 2009.

• Aged 39 years and 178 days becomes the oldest winner of The Championship at Laguna National, beating the previous record of Thongchai Jaidee, who was 39 years and 169 days in 2009.

• The second Chilean victory in European Tour history.

• His closing nine holes of 28 (-8) equals the lowest nine holes of the 2014 season, set by Stephen Gallacher (Omega Dubai Desert Classic), Mark Murless (Joburg Open,  West Course) and John Hahn (Africa Open).

• Becomes the 11th player this season to win after making up a final round deficit.

• Becomes the 20th different winner from the 20 different events played this season.

• Gains a place in the 2015 Volvo Golf Champions.
