• This victory beats his previous best European Tour performance of second in the 2011 WGC – Cadillac Championship and tied second in The Open Championship in 2011.

• This victory beats his previous best 2013 European Tour performance of tied eighth in the US PGA Championship.

• Becomes the 11th first-time winner of the 2013 season. • His first WGC victory in his 17th WGC appearance.

• This victory beats his previous best WGC performance of second in the 2011 WGC – Cadillac Championship.

• Victory beats his previous best WGC – HSBC Champions performance of tied 39th in 2012.

• Becomes the second American, following Phil Mickelson in 2009 to win the WGC – HSBC Champions.

• This victory sees America claim all four 2013 WGC events. The winners were: Matt Kuchar (WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship), Tiger Woods (WGC – Cadillac Championship and WGC – Bridgestone Invitational) and Dustin Johnson (WGC – HSBC Champions).

• Established a new record for the lowest winning total at the WGC – HSBC Champions of 264 (-24), and in relation to par, beating the 267 (-21), set by Ian Poulter in 2012. His 24 under par score is only one shot outside the all-time lowest winning WGC score in relation to par. This was set by Tiger Woods at the WGC – Cadillac Championship in 2002, who was 25 under.

• His three shot winning margin equals the largest in the history of the event, set by David Howell (2006 before the event became a WGC event) and Martin Kaymer in 2011.

• Is the first time in WGC history that America has won all four of the WGC events in a single season.

• Joins Francesco Molinari (2010) and Martin Kaymer (2011) as players to make the WGC – HSBC Champions their first WGC victory.

America, with eight victories would now have more wins than any other country on the 2013 European Tour International Schedule).

• Becomes the sixth different American to win on the 2013 European Tour. This is a record for the number of different Americans winning in a single European Tour season.

• The eighth American victory of the 2013 season equals their most in a single European Tour season, established in 2006.

• Gains a European Tour exemption until the end of the 2016 season, should he take up European Tour membership.

• Gains a place in the 2014 Volvo Golf Champions, 2014 WGC – Bridgestone Invitational and 2014 WGC – HSBC Champions.
