• His second European Tour International Schedule victory in his 393rd European Tour event.

• His first European Tour victory since the 2004 KLM Open – a gap of nine years and 66 days.

• Since his victory in the 2004 KLM Open has played in 223 European Tour events between victories.

• Since his 2004 KLM Open victory has finished second in the 2010 Austrian GolfOpen, 2011 KLM Open and 2012 US PGA Championship and tied second in the 2005 Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles, the 2005 Linde German Masters and 2011 Iberdrola Open.

• This victory beats his previous best 2013 European Tour performance of tied 17th in the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.

Becomes the oldest winner of the Portugal Masters, aged 39 years and 358 days, beating the previous record of Richard Green, who was 39 years and 240 days when he won in 2010.

• Joins Steve Webster (2007), Lee Westwood (2009) and Tom Lewis (2011) as Englishmen to win the Portugal Masters.

• Victory comes in his seventh appearance in the Portugal Masters. (Has played every year since the event began in 2007).

• This victory beats his previous best finish in the Portugal Masters of tied third in 2011.

• Began the final day six shots behind. This represents the biggest final round comeback of the 2013 European Tour season. This beats the five strokes of Louis Oosthuizen (Volvo Golf Champions) and Phil Mickelson (The 142nd Open Championship).

• Began the final day six behind. The sixth time in the Portugal Masters seven year history that the winner has made up a final day deficit to win. (Only Alvaro Quiros in 2008 won after leading going into the final 18 holes).

• His final round of 63 (-8) is the lowest final round by a winner in the history of the Portugal Masters, beating the 64 (-8) of Steve Webster in 2007.

• His final round of 63 (-8) is the lowest final round by a winner  and in relation to par by a winner, of the 2013 European Tour season, beating the 64 (-8) of Richard Sterne in the Joburg Open.

• The 283rd English victory in European Tour history.

• The fifth Englishman to win on The European Tour in 2013. They are: Chris Wood (Commercial Bank Qatar Masters), Justin Rose (US Open Championship, Paul Casey (Irish Open), Tommy Fleetwood (Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles) and David Lynn (Portugal Masters).

• Has made up final round deficits for both his European Tour victories. Made up three strokes to win the 2004 KLM Open and six to win the 2013 Portugal Masters.

• Gains a European Tour exemption until the end of 2015.

• Moves over €8 million in European Tour Official Career Earnings.

• His third win as a professional.

• Becomes the 18th European Tour victory by former Challenge Tour players on the 2013 European Tour.
