WGC-HSBC Champions day two - What they said

Dustin Johnson fired a blistering 63 to get to 13 under and lead the way after two days at the WGC-HSBC Champions.

Here, we take a look at what some of the chasing pack had to say after their second rounds.

Brooks Koepka (68, -12)

"I felt like I played pretty well. I felt like I drove it really well. That's what you've got to do out here to hit fairways. I felt like we were hitting quite a bit. Then, you know, a couple of the putts, we missed some short ones but to be honest with you, I felt like I hit them where I wanted to. I think I misread maybe two of them, especially the one at the last. It kind of changed at the last second over the ball. But, you know, that's going to happen over the course of 72 holes. I feel like I'm playing well and just need to keep hitting fairways out here. I have no problem breaking Dustin's heart, I can promise you that. I'm sure he'd say the same thing if he was sitting up here. We both have a lot of fun off the golf course but when it comes to golf I think we both want to kick each other's butts. There's no mercy out there. I don't think anybody wants to go home a loser. When we both show up, I think we're both expecting to win."

Justin Rose (68, -9)

"Played well again, kept some momentum going. First tournament in a month or so, so to back up a good start with another good round is good and now I feel like I'm into the weekend which is where you want to be. It was a bit breezier today. It wasn't quite as easy today. Yesterday was a given if you played well, you knew you were going to shoot a good score, not so much today.  We have a good game plan on this golf course. Fooch (caddie) has got a great book he's assembled over the last few years being here. The pin placements change every day and you have a different strategy to every pin on the golf course. So there will be places to attack tomorrow and there will be places to defend but we'll have a good strategy and try and pick our points to be aggressive."

Kiradech Aphibarnrat (70, -9)

"It's not a bad day, I still picked up two under today. I didn't hit the ball well, the same as yesterday. My putter didn't go as well as yesterday, especially to three-putt the last hole is quite disappointing. It's not the way to finish the round. A couple of strokes behind and still set up to go top ten, top five for me this week. I'm playing good on this golf course, with the way I'm playing at the moment, I can set the goal a little higher than I used to do."

Patrick Reed (70, -8)

"To feel like I got my bad round out of the way and still be in the golf tournament, that means a lot. To shoot six under yesterday and feel like I played steady and patient. The back nine just felt like I was playing the same way I was on the front. Felt like I was hitting the ball decent, giving myself some looks and putts started to fall."

Henrik Stenson (69, -7)

"I started off the day with a bogey and I came back with a couple of nice birdies, it's a bit of a mixed bag with the long game. I've got a few things I'm working on and not really firing on all cylinders. Still hitting a number of nice shots out there and I guess the part I've been the most happy with is the putting grip. I've been putting solid both days and made my fair share, I think. So that's kind of what keeps the scores together."

Matthew Fitzpatrick (69, -7)

"It was a good day, played really nicely. Got my irons going a little bit better this week and the past few weeks. That's given me a few more opportunities with the putter and taking better chances. Seven under, good position on the leaderboard, so we'll see."
