On behalf of The Renaissance Club’s members, our staff and management, I am pleased to welcome you to the 2021 abrdn Scottish Open. We are extremely pleased to be hosting some of the best golfers on the planet, with top ranked players from all over the world. The field this this year is incredible, and will provide the golfing community, around the world some very exciting competitive golf.
Over the past few months, The Renaissance Club’s green staff have been working diligently to present the best links conditions possible, even though East Lothian and Scotland, in general, experienced some harsh spring weather with frost for 16 days in April. These cold days prevented normal spring growth for many of the courses on the east coast of Scotland. Now that July is upon us, the growth has arrived, and we believe the professionals will appreciate the challenge presented.
The Club wants to send a special thanks to our members, our employees and all of the volunteers who have donated their time to make the 2021 Scottish Open a success. We sincerely appreciate the continued support of abrdn, Rolex, Visit Scotland, East Lothian Council and Scotland’s Golf Coast Alliance.
