After an extraordinary year, which has been full of uncertainty in sport, business and life, we are delighted to be back at Jumeirah Golf Estates, hosting the European Tour’s top players for the season-ending finale of the Race to Dubai.
The journey to get here has been challenging. The sacrifice that so many people have made has not gone unnoticed.
The frontline staff and key workers: our doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals. Our delivery drivers and retail staff. Our police and emergency services and many, many others.These selfless individuals have put themselves at risk, to keep us from harm. They have helped people stay safe, allowed businesses to operate and enabled Dubai to open. Our achievements would not be possible without our talented workforce - so I want to take this opportunity to personally thank them for their ongoing efforts in keeping the world moving during these unprecedented times.
Simply put, were it not for the determination and spirit of these individuals, and our community as a whole, we would not be welcoming the European Tour back to the UAE. To have accomplished this together makes me incredibly proud.

Our achievements would not be possible without our talented workforce – and I, therefore, want to take this opportunity, to personally thank them for their ongoing efforts in keeping the world moving during these unprecedented times.
As many of you will know, the DP World Tour Championship comes hot on the heels of the Golf in Dubai Championship, which was held on the Fire Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates last week. DP World presented the new event on the 2020 European Tour calendar and, we hope, underscored our ongoing commitment to both golf and the positive impact it has on the businesses, industries and individuals that call our beautiful city home.
As the Chairman of a global business, I am dedicated to inclusion, diversity and driving sustainable economic growth that delivers a better future for everyone. In the context of DP World’s golf partnerships, this means growing the sport by opening it up to new audiences both on and off the course.
We have not achieved this alone; the secret of our success is collaboration. Collaboration is a quality ingrained into everyone at DP World, and without it, this tournament would not be possible.
I would therefore like to finish by thanking everyone who has made the 12th edition of the DP World Tour Championship possible: our employees, customers, players, spectators, volunteers, partners and of course Dubai’s frontline workers. They are the real game-changers of 2020. I also wish all those attending the tournament or watching it from home, an enjoyable week of world-class sport and entertainment.
