A warm welcome to Carnoustie for the Senior Open Presented by Rolex.

The renowned Angus links is undoubtedly one of the world’s best and it will provide an outstanding venue for this week’s championship that will see many of golf’s most popular legends competing for the Senior Open trophy.

This is the third time the Senior Open has been played at Carnoustie and we saw plenty of drama and excitement, as well as world class golf, when Bernhard Langer triumphed in 2010 and Paul Broadhurst in 2016. I’m sure this week will be no different with one of the strongest fields ever assembled for the championship.

We can look forward to seeing multiple major champions, former Ryder Cup captains and players, Tour winners and local favourites vying with each other to see who will lift the famous trophy. Carnoustie will, as ever, provide a stern test and, with one of the most memorable and daunting finishing stretches to be found anywhere in golf, there is sure to be uncertainty right to the last.

There are many, many people who play a part in staging this championship and I would like to thank each and every one of them for their hard work and commitment to making it a success. It simply wouldn’t be possible to put on an event of this scale without the support of so many volunteers and officials.

I would also like to acknowledge the players who entertain us with their fantastic golf as well as Rolex for their support. Last, but certainly not least, my thanks to you, the fans, who generate such an amazing atmosphere. I hope you all have a wonderful Senior Open and enjoy a great championship.

John Clark
