Welcome to the 2024 Senior Open Presented by Rolex as the Major returns to Carnoustie Golf Links for the first time in eight years and third in its history.

This famous venue is steeped in golf tradition, with the game having been played at this location on Scotland’s North Sea coast for more than four centuries. Widely acknowledged as one of the world’s finest and most challenging courses, Carnoustie has also hosted The Open on eight occasions and the AIG Women’s Open twice.

Our company’s support for The Senior Open is part of our long-standing association with the game that dates back almost 60 years. It all began in 1967 with Arnold Palmer, joined by his great friends and rivals Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player – The Big Three – as the first Rolex Testimonees from the sport. In the ensuing decades, the partnership has flourished, embracing junior, amateur and professional ranks and nowadays extends to golf’s leading institutions and biggest events.

A high-class field has gathered in Angus this week for what promises to be an enthralling contest. Among those taking part are several Rolex Testimonees, including Bernhard Langer, the most successful player in Senior Major championship history since winning his first such title at this very venue in 2010. Joining him are Thomas Bjørn, Jim Furyk, Retief Goosen, Paul McGinley, José Maria Olazabal and Jeev Milkha Singh, while Gary Player will take part in Tuesday’s pro-am.

I wish them and all those participating the best of luck over the four rounds of competition. Their achievements during long and illustrious careers have inspired the generations following in their footsteps and been crucial to expanding the appeal of this game worldwide.

On behalf of Rolex, I would like to thank The R&A, the European Senior Tour and Carnoustie Golf Links for their outstanding organization of this esteemed tournament. We trust all those involved, including the players, their supporters and spectators, enjoy a rich and rewarding experience.
