Steve Webster recorded ten straight pars to maintain a share of the lead as Stuart Manley made a surge through the field on a windy day two of the Made In Denmark.
The Englishman had to be persuaded to come to Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort by his father after his grandmother had a fall last week but made the most of his trip on day one to share the lead at seven under with countryman Matt Wallace and Australian Wade Ormsby.
With Ormsby not due out until the afternoon, the English pair had a chance to make their moves and while Webster stayed at seven under after ten holes, Wallace dropped to six under after his first seven.
Frenchman Benjamin Hebert and Swede Oscar Lengden were also at six under and due out in the afternoon, with Manley a further shot back after picking up five shots in his first ten holes.
England's Tom Lewis and local favourite Thorbjørn Olesen picked up a single shot early in the morning to also sit two off the lead.
While Webster was parring his way round, Wallace made a double-bogey on the 12th but regained a shot on the 14th.
Welshman Manley mastered the blustery conditions with gains on the first, fourth, seventh, eighth and tenth.
Lewis started with a bogey but birdied the eighth and tenth in his first ten holes, while Olesen sandwiched a bogey on the sixth with birdies on the fourth and seventh in his first seven.
There were nine other players at five under among the later starters including local favourites Lucas Bjerregaard and Joachim B Hansen, and Ryder Cup star Victor Dubuisson.
Another Dane in Lasse Jensen turned in level par to stay at four under alongside Swede Robert Karlsson and England's James Morrison who had dropped shots in the morning.
