Here are your December Golfer of the Month nominees...

It’s time to vote for your Golfer of the Month from December 2019. 

The 2020 season started immediately after the season finale DP World Tour Championship with the Tour heading straight to South Africa for the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek Country Club. We then headed to Mauritius before the golfing year concluded at the Australian PGA Championship in Queensland. 

Here are your four nominees for December’s Golfer of the Month:

Rasmus Højgaard

The Dane became the third youngest winner in European Tour history, at 18 years and 271 days old, when he captured his maiden European Tour title with a dramatic play-off victory at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open. He did so in spectacular fashion, birdieing the 72nd hole to force his way into a three-way play-off before going on to hole a 12-foot eagle putt on the third extra hole to lift the title in just his fifth European Tour start. The win made Højgaard the fastest Dane to a European Tour win, beating Thomas Bjørn's record of 24 events and came less than a month after securing his card at European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage, the first person born in the 21st century to do so.

Pablo Larrazábal

Larrazábal ended his four-and-a-half year wait for a European Tour title at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, producing a remarkable comeback to clinch his fifth European Tour title. The Spaniard entered the final round four shots clear of the chasing pack but struggled with painful blisters throughout the final day at Leopard Creek, making the turn three shots off the lead. However, the 36-year-old rallied to birdie three of his final four holes and sealed an emotional one shot victory over Joel Sjöholm to clinch his first title since the 2015 BMW International Open.

Adam Scott

Scott secured his first European Tour title in over three years on home soil with a two-shot victory at the Australian PGA Championship. The local star secured his second title Australian PGA title in front of a delighted home crowd after edging out New Zealander Michael Hendry in a thrilling final round battle on the Gold Coast. The 2013 Masters Champion was pushed all the way by Hendry as the lead swung back-and-forth between the two players over the closing holes. A spectacular eagle at the 15th was enough for the Australian to open up a two-shot advantage and seal his 11th European Tour win.

Johannes Veerman

Veerman has made a flying start to his European Tour career, recording top ten results in two of his opening three starts in the 2020 Race to Dubai. The American secured his card at European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage in November despite staring at an early finish at Lumine Golf Club. Five over par and in 144th position after two days, he pulled off one the performances of the week, carding rounds of 67-67-66-66 over the closing four days to make the grade with two strokes to spare. He has continued that form at the start of his debut season, finishing in a tie for seventh at the Alfred Dunhill Championship and impressing in Mauritius, before rounding out 2019 with a top ten placing at the Australian PGA Championship.
