Vincent Norrman makes hole-in-one in practice round on Sweden homecoming

Vincent Norrman warmed up for his first start as a professional on home soil by making a hole-in-one ahead of the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed in Sweden.

Hours after arriving back from playing at the PGA TOUR's RBC Canadian Open, the two-time DP World Tour winner holed his tee shot with a three iron at the par three fourth, which played around 225 yards on Tuesday.

Playing alongside fellow Swedes Simon Forsström, Marcus Kinhult and amateur Algot Kleen, Norrman quickly adjusted to new surroundings as he got to grips with Vasatorps Golf Club.

"It was pretty funny," he reflected. "We were quite a few Swedish boys on the tee. It was 204 metres straight into the wind. I just flushed a three iron, and it kind of disappeared..."

Norrman, who made his debut as an amateur at this event in 2019, is among a host of home hopes teeing it up in Helsingborg where players from the DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour come together to compete over 72 holes for one prize fund and one trophy.

The 26-year-old won twice last season on the DP World Tour with victories at the Barbasol Championship and the Irish Open as he went on to qualify for the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

Norrman made his US PGA Championship debut last month, and comes into his first start at a regular DP World Tour event this season feeling the effects of three consecutive weeks playing on the PGA TOUR.

"I'm feeling a little jet lagged," he said. "I woke up at 3:00 this morning and I couldn't fall back asleep. But no, obviously great to be here. Will be fun to play back home – I haven’t done since I turned professional. Obviously super excited.

"I feel it a little now [this is the fourth week on the bounce]. Hopefully I can sleep good tonight. I travelled back from Canada last night and I felt it over the last few holes of the practice round."

While Vasatorps is a new venue for Norrman, it holds history on the DP World Tour having hosted the Scandinavian Enterprise Open from 1978–1980, where the late, great Seve Ballesteros lifted the trophy in its first edition.

"It looks good," he said of his first impressions at the venue. "I haven’t been here before actually. Some tricky holes, a few off the tee and a few into the greens which are pretty narrow. I think it will be a pretty good test."
