John Carter, Chief Executive of Travis Perkins plc, and Jamie Little, Director of Golf for the Variety Club Golf Society, with the help of Senior Tour members, handed the keys over to Jonathan Duff, Chair of Governors at Blanche Nevile School.

Blanche Nevile School, Muswell Hill, London, is an all-age community special school catering for 65 pupils from age three to 16.

As Travis Perkins plc celebrate their tenth year of title sponsorship of this event, this is the tenth year that the organisations have united to present a minibus to a deserving school.

“This is a huge thing for our school,” said Jonathan Duff. “Having a minibus like this will literally change our pupils’ lives. They come from all over London, and some of them don’t get the opportunity to go into the city centre and see the sights.

“This will allow us to get out of the school, into the community and enrich their education in ways we wouldn’t have been able to.

“IIt has been fantastic to have some of the children come to Woburn and meet some of the players. There was a great turnout and there has been such interest and enthusiasm from the Variety Club and Travis Perkins plc. They can see on these children’s faces how excited they are and we can’t thank Travis Perkins plc and the Variety Club enough.”

This is the 1,147thminibus presented by the Variety Club Golf Society.

John Carter added: “We are delighted to present this bus to Blance Nevile School. From speaking to Jonathan, we appreciate how much of a difference this will make to the pupils at the school and their education and it was wonderful seeing the reactions of the children when they first saw it next to the putting green here at Woburn. We hope to work very closely with Jonathan and the school over the coming months.

“In working with the Variety Club for the last ten years, we have seen how much of a difference these minibuses have made to the school and we hope that the children at Blanche Nevile have many years of enjoyment with their new bus.”
