The 113thUS Open is underway at Merion Golf Club, although forecasted storms could disrupt the first round in Pennsylvania.

Ryder Cup star Nicolas Colsaerts was among the early starters, joining fellow big-hitters Bubba Watson and Dustin Johnson off the 11thtee at 7.00hrs local time.

On the first tee, Americans Cliff Kresge and Roger Tambellini and Canadian Ryan Yip were the first group out at 6.45hrs, with Englishman John Parry and Swede Rikard Karlberg beginning the European challenge at 6.56 hrs alongside Japan’s Yui Ueda.

Weather forecasters predict that storms could hit the Philadelphia region at around 11.00hrs, with a further chance of a ‘small but potent’ storm this afternoon.
