Are these the most unlucky shots from the last two decades on the European Tour?
Is there a worse feeling on the course than an unlucky lip out, or when you've flushed your approach shot to the green only for it to hit the pin and ricochet off the putting surface and in to a bunker or a water hazard?
From former World Number One Dustin Johnson to Ian Poulter and 2018 Ryder Cup Captain Thomas Bjorn, here's a closer look at some of the most unlucky shots over the past two decades on the European Tour.
David Frost: 2004 Dunhill Championship
This piece of bad luck came for two-time European Tour and ten-time PGA Tour winner David Frost, whose approach shot at the 2004 Dunhill Championship careered off the pin and in to the bunker.
Marc Warren: 2006 WGC-HSBC Champions
This next one comes from the third round of the HSBC Champions, where Marc Warren nearly holed his third shot to the par five 18th hole but instead signed for a double bogey seven after his ball rebounded off the flag back in to the water.
Brett Rumford: 2011 Ballantine's Championship
One of the most unlucky, and the most bizarre shots in European Tour history belongs to Brett Rumford. His opening tee shot ended up near the ninth green after winding its way along a cart path, which led to a double bogey.
Raphael Jacquelin: 2013 Ballentine's Championship
A second piece of bad luck at the Ballantine's Championship came for Raphael Jacquelin, the week after he claimed his fourth European Tour victory at the 2013 Open de Espana.
Standing in the middle of the fairway, Jacquelin played the perfect distance to the double tiered green, but the undulations worked against him after he hit the pin and his ball rolled back in to the bunker.
Alvaro Quiros: 2015 Portugal Masters
Alvaro Quiros looked to have an easy tap in for par on the 12th hole at the Portugal Masters, but instead suffered this cruel lip-out during his opening round. He ended up finishing in a tie for 18th.
Dustin Johnson: 2015 WGC-HSBC Champions
"Don't you dare"
Dustin Johnson was firmly in contention during the final round of the 2015 WGC-HSBC Champions at Sheshan International GC, but he suffered from a piece of bad fortune at the eighth hole that led to a double bogey seven.
After laying up, Johnson hit his third shot, which clattered in to the pin and spun backwards in to the water. He went on to finish in a tie for fifth.
Ian Poulter: 2017 Turkish Open
Arguably the unluckiest break of 2017, Ian Poulter looked confident after playing his approach shot to the par four fifth hole during the second round at Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort. Unfortunately for Poulter, his ball careered off the pin, across the green and back in to the water.
He would go on to make bogey, and finish the tournament in a tie for 20th.
Thomas Bjorn: 2019 Kenya Open
In this effort, Thomas Bjorn managed to save par following this unlucky result to his approach on the par four 17th at Karen CC during last year's Magical Kenya Open presented by Asba.
Dustin Johnson: 2019 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play
Last but not least, Dustin Johnson was 1up in his match over Branden Grace at the 2019 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play when he approached the eighth hole, but Grace pulled the match back level after this par-putt attempt from Johnson.
