A host of DP World Tour members, ranging from Major Champions to Ryder Cup stars and players in their rookie season, are among the 156-player field in action at the 124th U.S. Open.

Ludvig Åberg

After becoming the first player in history to compete in a Ryder Cup before ever playing a Major last September, Ludvig Åberg is making his U.S. Open debut this week. Prior to turning professional in June 2023, the Swede was the top ranked amateur on the World Golf Amateur Rankings and made history as the first player to earn direct access to the PGA TOUR via collegiate merit, finishing first on the 2023 PGA TOUR University Ranking while at Texas Tech. He secured his first win as a professional at the Omega European Masters in September on the DP World Tour. He was then part of the winning European Ryder Cup team in Italy in October, delivering two points from his four matches as a rookie, and earned his first PGA TOUR win at the RSM Classic in November. He finished runner-up in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February and then eighth in his debut at The Players Championship in March, rising inside the top 10 in the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time. On his Major debut, at the Masters Tournament in April, he finished solo second.

The left-hander from England will make his U.S. Open debut after booking his ticket to North Carolina through Final Qualifying at Walton Heath last month. While he has also twice qualified for The Open in 2021 and 2022 as an amateur, this will be his first Major start since joining the paid ranks in September 2022. A winner of the prestigious Brabazon Trophy in 2021, Bairstow reached the final of the Amateur Championship at Royal Lytham & St Annes a year later, losing to South Africa’s Aldrich Potgieter in the 36-hole match. He lifted his first piece of silverware as a professional with victory at the European Challenge Tour’s Farmfoods Scottish Challenge supported by the R&A as he went on to earn promotion to the DP World Tour where he has recorded four top 20s in his rookie season including solo third in Singapore.
Christiaan Bezuidenhout

The South African is making his third U.S. Open start, and first since 2021, after being among the top 60 on the Official World Golf Ranking on May 20. Of his ten worldwide professional victories, three have come on the DP World Tour, including two back-to-back in his homeland at the end of 2020. In January, he finished as the runner-up to amateur Nick Dunlap in this year's American Express Championship but collected the first-place check at the PGA TOUR event. The 30-year-old has since finished in the top 20 on a further seven occasions, including at the Memorial Tournament where he finished fourth over the weekend. He represented the International Team in the 2022 Presidents Cup.
Thomas Detry

Another player who is also set for his third U.S. Open appearance and first in three years after he climbed into the top 60 with a tie for fourth at last month's US PGA Championship. After turning professional in June 2016, following a successful amateur career in which he represented Belgium in three World Amateur Team Championships from 2010-2014. He made the cut in his first 10 professional events, culminating in his win at the 2016 Bridgestone Challenge on the Challenge Tour. In 2018, he won the 2018 World Cup of Golf with partner Thomas Pieters, representing Belgium. He has twice finished solo second on the DP World Tour, while he lost in a play-off to Min Woo Lee that also featured Matt Fitzpatrick at the Scottish Open in 2021. The 31-year-old, who is on track to qualify for this summer's Olympics, reached a career-high 52nd in the world earlier this month after a strong 2024 so far on the PGA TOUR.
Tony Finau

This marks the American's ninth appearance at his national open. Since winning his maiden PGA TOUR title at the Puerto Rico Open in 2016, he has amassed a further five wins on his home circuit and been ranked as high as ninth in the world in late 2018. That was the same year he made his Ryder Cup debut at Le Golf National. His best performance at a Major came when he finished third at The Open in 2019 at Royal Portrush.
Matt Fitzpatrick

Fitzpatrick joined Jack Nicklaus as the only players to win a U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur at the same venue. His victory at The Country Club in 2022 was his first professional victory on American soil. A second followed in April 2023 at the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head Island. He won his sixth DP World Tour later that year in Scotland at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, a week after helping Europe regain the Ryder Cup in Italy. He has three top-10 finishes so far this season on the PGA TOUR ahead of his milestone tenth U.S. Open start.
Tommy Fleetwood

Across his eight previous U.S. Open starts, the fan favourite from England has amassed three top fives. He finished solo second to Brooks Koepka in 2018 at Shinnecock Hills after carding a seven-under-par 63 in the final round. In 2023, he finished runner-up in both the RBC Canadian Open and the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. He recorded top 10s in both the U.S. Open and The Open, along with the clinching point for Team Europe at the Ryder Cup. The Englishman made a terrific start to 2024, winning the Dubai Invitational in January for his seventh win on the DP World Tour before finishing in a tie for third at the Masters Tournament in April. Expected to represent England alongside Fitzpatrick at this summer's Olympics in France.

The Scot will make his U.S. Open debut after coming through Final Qualifying at Walton Heath. This will also be his first Major stateside, having made appearances at The Open in 2013 and 2018. He became the first player from his country to win on home soil in nearly a decade at the 2021 Hero Open at Fairmont St Andrews as he claimed his maiden DP World Tour title. He earned his DP World Tour card for the 2019 season by finishing seventh on the Challenge Tour's Order of Merit. His best performance so far this season came at the ISPS HANDA Australian Open when he finished in a tie for fourth towards the tail end of last year.

The New Zealander enjoyed a strong finish to 2023 on the DP World Tour, winning his first Rolex Series title at the BMW PGA Championship - a result which earned his berth in the U.S. Open - and finishing tied second at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on his title defence in Scotland. Those performances helped him earn dual membership status with the PGA TOUR as one of the top 10 finishers not already exempt on the season-long Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex. The four-time DP World Tour winner has two top tens so far this year on the PGA TOUR.

In his eight previous starts at the U.S. Open, the Englishman's best finish came at Shinnecock Hills six years ago when he tied for sixth. He additionally made the cut in all four Majors and represented Europe in his third Ryder Cup at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club. His most recent victory worldwide came at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in 2021.

The Dane is making his debut at a Major for the second time this year, having done so at the Masters in April. Claimed his maiden Rolex Series victory at the DP World Tour Championship at the end of last season, a week after finishing runner-up at the Nedbank Golf Challenge. He finished second at the AT&T Pebble Beach PRO-AM in February, days after finishing in the top 10 at the DP World Tour's Hero Dubai Desert Classic, during an impressive start to his first full season on the PGA TOUR. The three-time DP World Tour winner was a member of the winning European Ryder Cup team last year.
Billy Horschel

Horschel will make his 12th U.S. Open start thanks to being among the top five players in the 2024 FedEx Cup standings as of May 20, who were not otherwise exempt. He returned to the PGA TOUR winner's circle with victory at the Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic in April. That was his eighth PGA TOUR success, having gained his first at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in 2013. He has won twice on the DP World Tour, both coming in 2021, memorably lifting the BMW PGA Championship title at Wentworth.
Rikuya Hoshino

The Japanese is set to make his fourth U.S. Open start after being the top player on the 2024 Race to Dubai Rankings on the DP World Tour not otherwise exempt as of May 20. Was given playing opportunities on the DP World Tour for 2023 after finishing second on the Japan Golf Tour’s money list in 2022 but went on to earn a full card for 2024 as he ended the year 81st on the Race to Dubai Rankings in partnership with Rolex. In February, he won the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters for his maiden DP World Tour during a great period of success for Japanese golfers. The 28-year-old, a six-time winner in his homeland, has not played competitively through injury since the Porsche Singapore Classic in March.
Viktor Hovland

Delivered 3.5 points from his five matches at the 2023 Ryder Cup in Italy. The big-hitting 20-year-old from South Africa was added to the field as an alternate from the Final Qualifying event at Walton Heath, having missed out on a guaranteed berth by just one shot. This will be his Major debut, and it comes during his rookie season on the DP World Tour after earning promotion from the Challenge Tour where he won the Euram Bank Open in Austria. He has played in all 17 DP World Tour events, outside the Majors, open to his membership category with his best finish a tie for seventh at the Alfred Dunhill Championship on home soil.
Takumi Kanaya

The Japanese, a former recipient of the McCormack Medal for being the leading amateur in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, is set to make his second U.S. Open start after coming through Final Qualifying at Dallas (Texas) Athletic Club on May 20. Before turning professional, Kanaya spent 55 weeks atop the World Amateur Golf Ranking and even claimed a Japan Golf Tour event during that span. He turned professional in 2020 and has since amassed five more victories on his home circuit. He finished in a tie for 11th on home soil at the ISPS HANDA - CHAMPIONSHIP in April.
Min Woo Lee

His best result of 2023 saw him finish in a tie for third on home ground at the Horizon Irish Open, shortly before he helped Europe regain the Ryder Cup after receiving a Captain’s Pick from Luke Donald. Finished third and then a tie for fourth in back-to-back events on the PGA TOUR in March to climb back into the world’s top 50. He has since won alongside Rory McIlroy at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans before finishing in a tie for sixth at the US PGA Championship.

His resurgence is perhaps among the best feel-good stories in recent times. After coming through Final Qualifying, he earned his first Major appearance in eight years. That followed on from him ending his near 11-year wait for a fifth DP World Tour title with victory at the Jonsson Workwear Open. Gained promotion back to the DP World Tour by finishing ninth on the Challenge Tour's Road to Mallorca Rankings. This is his fifth U.S. Open, having first played at the event in 2011 at Congressional Country Club. To this day, he remains the youngest ever winner on the DP World Tour at the age of 17.
Richard Mansell

Registered seven top tens on the DP World Tour last season, agonisingly missing out on winning the Scottish Open to Rory McIlroy. In 2023, he won in Dubai and Scotland on the DP World Tour as he earned his fifth Harry Vardon Trophy, finished inside the top seven in three majors, and produced a career-best performance to help the European team win the Ryder Cup. Has won twice so far this season on the PGA TOUR, namely the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and more recently the Wells Fargo Championship for a fourth time.

The 21-year-old is enjoying a consistent campaign this year, with four tops tens already.

He finished runner-up at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic in January.

The Italian, who will again serve as a Vice Captain to Luke Donald at next year's Ryder Cup, claimed the last of his three DP World Tour titles at the Trophée Hassan II in Morocco in 2017.

A three-time Ryder Cup player for Europe, he memorably won all five matches he played at Le Golf National in 2018.

His best finish on the DP World Tour came at the WGC - Dell Technologies Match Play in 2022 when he finished fifth.

Justin Rose

After initially missing out on securing his place when he lost out to countryman Cameron Davis in a sudden-death pay-off at U.S. Open Final Qualifying earlier this month, the Australian eventually earned his spot at Pinehurst through the top-60 Official World Golf Ranking criteria. This will be his 92nd consecutive Major start, golf's longest active streak, a remarkable run which began following the 2001 U.S. Open. In 2013, Scott became the first Australian to win the Masters after defeating 2007 U.S. Open champion Angel Cabrera in a sudden-death play-off. He shot a final-round 64 in the 2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay to post his best career finish in the championship (T-4). The 43-year-old, who has 11 DP World Tour titles, finished in the top ten in each of his first three events of the season, including a tie for seventh at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

He hit his stride in 2023 after finishing in a tie for seventh at the US PGA Championship, and then won his second PGA TOUR title at the John Deere Classic in early July. Later that month he produced his career-best Major performance with a tie for second at The Open, before ending the PGA TOUR campaign at the Tour Championship in a share of sixth place. Part of the European team that regained the Ryder Cup in Italy. Has six top-20 finishes so far this year on the PGA TOUR, including at The PLAYERS Championship and Masters Tournament.

The two-time US PGA Championship winner is set to make his tenth start at the U.S. Open, with his best result coming in 2020 when he finished in a tie for eighth. The American has four top tens so far this year, including at last month's PGA Championship. He was a member of the victorious 2017, 2019 and 2022 U.S. Presidents Cup teams, and represented his country in the 2018, 2021 and 2023 Ryder Cup.

The South African is appearing for the fifth time at the U.S. Open, and for the first time since 2022. Claimed his second PGA TOUR title at the World Wide Technology Championship in November, dedicating his triumph to a close friend, who died shortly afterwards due to terminal cancer. Finished in a tie for second in Palm Beach Gardens in March and also has top 10 this season at the Mexico Open at Vidanta and the Myrtle Beach Classic. His one win on the DP World Tour so far came in Sweden in 2019.
While no longer a member, two-time DP World Tour winner Robert Rock makes his first Major appearance in almost five years after progressing from U.S. Open Final Qualifying at Walton Heath last month. The Englishman, who stepped back from playing on the DP World Tour after the 2022 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship to focus on a career as a coach, made a remarkable comeback at Walton Heath in Surrey with rounds of 69, 66 to qualify for Pinehurst.
