A team of staff and guests from Turnberry Resort gathered in front of the iconic hotel today to mark the passing of the Olympic Torch as it travelled through Turnberry on its journey to London.
Turnberry, one of the world’s finest links layouts, will host this year’s Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex from July 26-29 in the week that the London Olympics begin.
An early morning group set out to greet the torch, led by General Manager, Jordi Tarrida including management, staff and guests of the Resort.
Tarrida commented: “As one of the world’s most iconic sports resorts, it’s fitting that Turnberry should celebrate the tradition of the Olympic torch relay and we very much enjoyed marking the moment this morning. With the Olympic Games, Euro 2012 and the Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex at Turnberry, 2012 is set to be an exciting year of sport for the United Kingdom.”
