Trick shot King Jeremy Dale set for DP World Tour Championship

He has teed up with the legendary Seve Ballesteros and Gary Player and played trick shots for the best of The European Tour but golf’s “Trick Shot King“ Jeremy Dale will add a new ‘first’ to his impressive CV when he brings his own breathtaking style to the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai next month.

Although this will be Dale’s first performance of the Jeremy Dale Golf Show at the US$8 million tournament – to be staged on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates from Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 November – the Englishman has been performing for the past 20 years and has captivated spectators in 35 countries across the globe.

A golfing artist and trick-shot legend, Dale is one of the world’s few fully ambidextrous golfers, displaying amazing skill and accuracy with his right-handed swing then doing exactly the same left-handed.

“I am just thrilled to be invited to perform at the DP World Tour Championship as it is such a big event,” said Dale, who has two trick shot show appearances at the 1998 and 1999 European Tour Omega Dubai Desert Classic to his name.

“I watched Rory McIlroy’s great finish at last year’s DP World Tour Championship on TV and am curious to see the golf course.

“Since 1998, I’ve performed in 35 countries at all types of tournaments, charity days, corporate events, club centenaries or captains’ days. Wherever you go in the world people love golf and want to be entertained. It has a universal appeal.”

Featuring the top 60 players on The European Tour, the DP World Tour Championship is the season-ending event of the 2013 Race to Dubai and will feature many players familiar with the Jeremy Dale Golf Show, including Race to Dubai leader Henrik Stenson and former DP World Tour Championship winner Lee Westwood.

“I’ve met most of the current top Europeans as well as legends like Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo and Padraig Harrington and they have all watched the show. I had great fun with Pablo Larrazabal at Golf Live last year although when I first started out I thought the pros wouldn’t be very interested in trick shots but actually they are golf fans too and most are very positive.”

Unlike other trick shot show, the Jeremy Dale Golf Show is less about gimmicks and more about the skills involved using the clubs found in every golfer’s bag.

“I guess I really am two golfers in one,” he added. “The fans who come to the DP World Tour Championship will see the same golfer hit right and left handed equally well - with same ball flight and very similar looking swings.

“I don't try to make it into a clinic so they may learn something but the point is to entertain, make the audience laugh and show some great shots. I also only use seven normal clubs to perform the show - no gimmicky clubs at all. I like to show what can be done with normal clubs that everyone uses so that is a bit different to what people might expect.”

Spectators can catch the Jeremy Dale Golf Show at the DP World Tour Championship twice daily from Thursday 14 to Saturday 16 November with one show on the final day’s play on Sunday 17 November. Tickets for the four-day DP World Tour Championship are free of charge and can be obtained now by registering online at the event websitewww.DPWTC.com
