The European Challenge Tour remains in Sweden this week for the Indoor Golf Group Challenge, held at Allerum Golfklubb. Here’s everything you need to know before the action begins…
Back-to-back
This week’s event marks the end of both the Swedish double header and the Road to Mallorca’s Scandinavian Swing. Beginning with the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge, the Road to Mallorca has weaved through Finland, Denmark and Sweden, including last week’s Dormy Open, and 2022’s stint in Sweden will come to an end following the conclusion of the Indoor Golf Group Challenge.
Opportunity knocks for Schott
Germany’s Freddy Schott continued his incredible run of form by securing his first Challenge Tour victory a fortnight ago and subsequently moved to the top of the Road to Mallorca Rankings. The 21-year-old is this week presented with a great opportunity to enhance his lead at the top of the Rankings, with his closest challenger Jens Dantorp not teeing it up in Helsingborg.
Allerum Golfklubb
This week’s venue is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2022, having been founded in 1992 with the 18-hole Championship course and the separate nine-hole pay and play. The parkland layout has just over 1,500 members and the facility also contains a large driving range, practice area and several putting greens. The venue has hosted qualifiers for the Nordic Golf League and during 2023 and 2024, will host the Helsingborg Open on the Ladies European Tour.
Indoor Golf Group
Indoor Golf Group, the title sponsors of this week’s tournament, has the goal of developing the sport of golf in Sweden through good accessibility, outstanding service, the best simulator technology, focus on the sport and solid golf knowledge. Indoor Golf Group wants to contribute to the development of Swedish golf by making golf a year-round sport, and they are doing so by having 19 locations around Sweden, all fitted with Trackman technology.
