Top Challenge Tour stars eye up Telenet Trophy

The biggest stars on the Challenge Tour will once again land on Belgian shores for the seventh staging of the Telenet Trophy, held for the first time this year at Ravenstein Royal GC of Belgium.

Andrew Tampion - 2011 Telenet Trophy Champion

All four winners on the Challenge Tour so far this year, Gujarat Kensville Challenge winner Max Kieffer, Pacific Rubiales Colombia Classic champion Philip Archer, Barclays Kenya Open winner Seve Benson and last week's winner of the ALLIANZ Open Côtes d’Armor Bretagne, Eddie Pepperell, will all battle it out for the €160,000 on offer at the Tervuren venue, just outside Brussels.

Also present will be defending champion Andrew Tampion, as the Australian makes his first appearance of the 2012 Challenge Tour season following a 39th place finish in the rankings last year.

European Tour winner José-Filipe Lima will also be present alongside a host of multiple Challenge Tour winners such as Robert Dinwiddie, Andreas Hartø and Anthony Snobeck, while some of the Challenge Tour’s most promising young players will be in search of their first professional win.

Denmark’s Morton Ørum Madsen is one of those, after a flying start to the season which began with a runner up finish at the Pacific Rubiales Colombia Classic before challenging for the title at the Barclays Kenya Open, where he eventually finished in tied 26th spot after a disappointing weekend, and again threatening the leaderboard at the Madeira Islands Open - Portugal before finishing tied 11th.

His compatriot Lasse Jensen will also continue his hunt for a first win after coming agonisingly close in Kenya last month, only to be beaten in a play-off by his English counterpart Benson.

Another up and coming Englishman, Chris Lloyd, will travel to Belgium with the hope of continuing some impressive early-season form, which has elevated him to sixth place in the Challenge Tour rankings.
