World Number 22 Tom Kim will return to the country of his birth for the Genesis Championship at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea, from October 24 – 27.
The 22-year-old will be a huge attraction in South Korea as the Genesis Championship marks the end of the Back 9 on the Race to Dubai as players vie to secure their places in the DP World Tour Play-Offs, with tickets now on sale here.
The tournament will be co-sanctioned with the KPGA TOUR, with a field comprising 90 DP World Tour players and 30 KPGA TOUR players, building on the Strategic Alliance that was agreed between the two Tours in May 2023.
Three-time PGA TOUR winner Kim, who was born in nearby Seoul, will tee it up in his home country for the first time since winning the 2022 Wyndham Championship to earn his PGA TOUR card and is relishing to compete in front of his home fans once again.
“There is no feeling quite like playing in front of your home fans and I am so excited to compete in the Genesis Championship later this year,” Kim said.
“It’s been a couple of years since I’ve had a chance to compete in Korea so I’m really grateful to the DP World Tour, KPGA TOUR and Genesis for the opportunity to do so.
“Everyone knows I play most of my golf over in the States but I also love playing in different places around the world and testing my game in all sorts of conditions. It will be a challenge playing in Korea again after such a long period away, but I’m really excited to take it on and hopefully give the home fans something to cheer about.”
The three-year title sponsorship agreement elevates Genesis’ partnership with the premier men’s professional golf tournament in Korea, where it was the title sponsor of the Genesis Championship since 2017. Last year, Genesis was also the presenting sponsor of the inaugural Korea Championship, which has since merged with the existing Genesis Championship as part of DP World Tour and KPGA TOUR’s strategic alliance.

In this year's merged Genesis Championship, defending champion Sanghyun Park will defend his title against world-class players from Korea and abroad – including last year's Korea Championship winner Pablo Larrazábal from Spain.
Genesis has shown a strong commitment to golf with a history of tournament partnerships. This includes the Genesis Invitational, which has been part of the PGA TOUR since 2017, and the Genesis Scottish Open – a co-sanctioned tournament between the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR – where it has been Title Sponsor since 2022.
