TNT Title for Flawless Westwood

Lee Westwood shot a course record equalling final round 63 at Hilversumsche to win the TNT Dutch Open title with a fifteen under par total.

His flawless round contained eight birdies including crucially at the 18th a 25 foot putt that dropped straight into the middle of the hole.

"I'm delighted with the win as it's been a long time. I've been playing all right but not holing any putts, so it was just about waiting for the putts to start dropping. I holed three putts of more than 15 feet today and I can't remember the last time I did that.

"I used a new set of Pings for the first round, but I didn't really know how far I was hitting them, so on the advice of my manager (Andrew Chandler) I decided to switch back to my old set. I hadn't brought them with me so I arranged for them to be sent out here by TNT. They arrived 45 minutes before I teed off for the second round and I shot 16 under over the last three days.

"It's an important win because this gives me momentum. The TNT Dutch Open is one of the best events on Tour and the course was in excellent condition."

Overnight leader Gary Orr finished in second place, one behind Westwood. He birdied the 16th and 18th but a three putt on the 17th proved costly for the Scot.

The two Dutch players Maarten Lafeber and Rolf Muntz both received huge standing ovations as they approached the 18th Green.

Lafeber made a putt across the green to finish on 10 under par, but sadly Muntz took six to drop back 9 under.
