Tickets are now on sale for the third edition of the Volvo Golf Champions, The European Tour’s ‘Tournament of Champions’, taking place at the Durban Country Club in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Province, South Africa, from January 10-13, 2013.
The Volvo Golf Champions will be the first event of the New Year and is an exclusive, limited field tournament with no halfway cut, open only to players who have won a tournament on the previous year’s European Tour International Schedule, together with current Tour Members with more than 10 European Tour career victories.
January’s 2012 Volvo Golf Champions was held at Fancourt Resort in George on the famous Links Course and was won by South Africa’s fastest rising star, Branden Grace. Fans were rewarded when their home players rose to the challenge of hosting the world’s best players with six of the top ten players on the final leaderboard hailing from South Africa.
Grace’s remarkable tournament saw him hold off the challenge from two of his boyhood heroes, Ernie Els and Retief Goosen, in a dramatic play-off to win his second event in as many weeks.

While tickets will also be available to purchase on the gate, event organisers Volvo and IMG also announced today that the gate will be limited to 15,000 spectators per day and advise spectators to purchase tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.
