Three to Watch: Swiss Challenge

The Swiss Challenge returns this year to the new venue at Golf Saint Apollinaire as the 2021 Road to Mallorca edges closer towards its conclusion. Here are three players to keep an eye on this week…

Ugo Coussaud

Frenchman Ugo Coussaud returns to a familiar event, having competed in every Swiss Challenge event since 2018 and with this year’s tournament being played in France, the home soil advantage could help him secure his maiden European Challenge Tour title. The 28-year-old has had six top 20 finishes on the Road to Mallorca so far – three of them coming in the last six events - and last time out on home soil at the Hopps Open de Provence he recorded a tied fifth position, giving him the confidence he needs for the week ahead.

Jens Dantorp

Jens Dantorp of Sweden has recently hit an impressive run of form, finishing inside the top 20 in each of his last five performances, including a tied fourth position at last week’s Open de Portugal at Royal Óbidos. The Swede knows what it takes to be victorious on the Challenge Tour with two trophies to his name, the 2013 Rolex Trophy in Switzerland and Ras Al Khaimah, 2017 Golf Challenge in the United Arab Emirates.

Todd Clements

Englishman Todd Clements has been in fine form of late, after a difficult start to the Road to Mallorca the 25-year-old has recorded five top 20 finishes in his last seven appearances, including a tied sixth position at the Open de Portugal at Royal Óbidos. With four events of the season remaining, Clements will be hoping for another positive performance this week as he searches for a maiden Challenge Tour title and a coveted place in the top 20 of the Road to Mallorca Rankings.
