Form horse: Oscar Lengden
Oscar Lengden has been in red-hot form recently with three top ten finishes in his last three European Challenge Tour starts, including a third place at last week’s Swiss Challenge. The Swede has surged to 28th position on the Road to Mallorca Rankings and he is now looking to break into the top 20 with a strong performance in France this week.
Lengden has proven his winning capability with two Challenge Tour titles to his name at the 2017 Bridgestone Challenge and the 2018 Challenge de España, a year in which he narrowly missed out on his DP World Tour card.
The outsider: Steven Tiley
Steven Tiley, aka the “Short Game Doctor”, is another man in terrific form with two top fives in his last three starts. The Englishman finished in second place at the Indoor Golf Group Challenge – a tournament reduced to 54-holes due to inclement weather, before a tie for fourth at last week’s Swiss Challenge. The 40-year-old is currently sitting in 39th position in the Rankings and a strong finish to the season could see him climb into the top 20.
Tiley is also a man who knows how to win on French soil with a maiden Challenge Tour title arriving at the 2019 Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge.
Local boy: Jeong weon Ko
Jeong weon Ko’s impressive form on the Road to Mallorca has seen him catapult into 17th position on the Rankings. The Frenchman held the lead heading into the final round at last week’s Swiss Challenge and was unfortunate not to seal a maiden Challenge Tour title after New Zealander Daniel Hillier posted a sensational eight under par round of 64 to come through the field and triumph.
Ko has recorded five top tens in his last seven appearances and he will be hoping a return to home soil can provide the catalyst for a maiden win.
