Three to Watch: Challenge de Cádiz

The Challenge de Cádiz takes place at Iberostar Real Golf Novo Sancti Petri this week and here’s our three men to keep an eye on…

Form Horse: Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen

Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen (9)

Road to Mallorca Number One Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen has been in red-hot form recently with two victories at the Kolkata Challenge and UAE Challenge, and three other top tens in his last five Challenge Tour starts. The Dane is targeting automatic promotion to the DP World Tour for the remainder of 2024 and the entirety of the 2025 season with a third win of the season in Spain this week.

Local Boy: Joel Moscatel

Joel Moscatel (3)

Joel Moscatel is targeting a second victory on home soil this season after securing a maiden Challenge Tour title at the Challenge de España last month. The 25-year-old has been in scintillating form on the Road to Mallorca with a victory and two other top tens in his last three Challenge Tour starts, which has propelled him into third position on the Rankings.

The Outsider: Pep Anglés

Angles

Pep Anglés will have fond memories of Iberostar Real Golf Novo Sancti Petri after winning his maiden Challenge Tour title at the inaugural Challenge de Cádiz in 2020. He went on to finish third on the Road to Mallorca Rankings that season to earn graduation to the DP World Tour, however he has since dropped back down to the Challenge Tour and will tee it up in Cádiz again this week as he bids to make a return to golf’s Global Tour. The Spaniard, who currently lies outside the top 200 on the Road to Mallorca Rankings, will be hoping a return to familiar surroundings this week can kickstart an upturn in form.
