“You’re always aiming to shoot low on the golf course, and my best score is 63, at the MAN NÖ Open in 2008. But I think the best round I’ve ever played was at the Second Stage of the Qualifying School last year, when it was unplayable. The weather was awful but I battled round well and had a respectable score.

“It’s nice to earn a living from something you love doing. Being paid to play golf is great, although you have to play well to get paid. The first time I earned some prize money  I bought a case of beer to celebrate.

“My favourite tournament in the world is The Open Championship – although I’ve never played it because I’ve never gone to qualifying. I just love it and I watch it every year on television. My favourite tournament I’ve played in was the one I organised after my wedding for a load of family and friends.

“Choosing a favourite player is difficult because there are so many great players, but I’m going to say Jack Nicklaus.

“In golf I just aim to get the best from my potential. If I do that I will score pretty well on every golf course.

“Away from the golf course I enjoy cooking and eating good food, spending time with my family and watching and playing all kinds of sports. My wife and I had a baby daughter a month and a half ago – our first child - and it’s the best thing ever.

“I eat and cook everything, as long as it’s good quality and very natural. I don’t have a particular favourite or signature dish, just as long as it’s high quality, I’m happy."
