The Worst Pro-Am partner… ever

Imagine the worst possible playing partner for a Pro-Am.

Constant chat, poor etiquette and a player who isn’t quite as good as they make out to be are ingredients that are sure to test anyone’s patience.

Well, ahead of this week’s Horizon Irish Open, DP World Tour player Richard Mansell was put through an experience he is unlikely to forget in a hurry.

Right from the off, Josh Pieters, from the YouTube channel Josh & Archie, was on a mission to be as annoying as possible with Mansell completely unaware of the prank that was taking place.

Playing the part of ‘Jack Fourie’, and under the direction of Mansell’s friend and fellow DP World Tour professional James Morrison, Pieters arrived late to the first tee while on the phone, before giving a quick lesson on bunker play to a fellow amateur playing partner.

After then trying his luck to tee it off from the back tees, and then use Mansell’s driver, Pieters continued to play mischief, including talking up his hopes of one day turning professional.

It was all becoming too much for Mansell, who mid-round caught up with two-time DP World Tour winner Ewen Ferguson and the tournament referee to bemoan his misfortune.
