The Masters Tournament day three - What They Said

Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose will take the lead into the final round of the Masters Tournament but there are a host of experienced names looking to chase them down at Augusta National.

Lee Westwood

Here, we take a look at what some of the challengers had to say after their third rounds.

Lee Westwood (68, -1)

"I did what I needed to do today. I needed to get into the red. Obviously I would like to be deep in the red, but one under is pretty good. I've got half a chance tomorrow if I can get a roll going on the front nine. I hit the ball pretty well, the short game was pretty good and I holed a few putts, so it was nice. With less wind it was more scoreable, but the tougher flags come out, the greens get firmer and get quicker so it's swings and roundabouts really. I feel I left a few out there on the front nine. I felt like I could have shot 65 quite easily."

Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy (71, level par)

"My best score round here is 65 and I'm going to need something like that if not lower to have a chance tomorrow. I'll be able to tell you better tomorrow night if I think those missed opportunities have ruined my chances but I just need to go out and play a good round of golf tomorrow. You can't just start to gung-ho it around here and go for shots that aren't on. You still have to play smart when you have to. I'll just try to take my chances, birdie the par fives, birdie some of the other holes and try not to make too many mistakes. I feel like I play as aggressive as anyone round here. It hasn't done me much good yet! But it's one of these courses where you get a bit too aggressive, miss it on the wrong side and you end up not with birdie but with bogey and that gets frustrating."

Jordan Spieth (68, -4)

"I feel great. After the first round, I couldn't ask for much better than this. We fought back tremendously to have a chance to win this golf tournament and no matter what happens at the end, we will have a chance to win with a really good round tomorrow. So a new experience for me, coming from behind on Sunday at the Masters, which is kind of fun to say. We have a great history here. Really, really enjoy playing this golf course, enjoy the imagination that's necessary. Tomorrow might free me up a bit, being behind. I plan to play aggressive because at this point, it's win or go home. So you pull off the shots and you make the putts, then I want to give myself a chance for that to be enough. And if I don't, then so be it. Finishing fifth versus tenth doesn't mean much to me, so that frees me up a bit tomorrow."
