The 2018 edition of the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge produced its first home winner, with Kim Koivu lifting the trophy after a play-off victory over Robert MacIntyre.
Koivu claimed his second title of the season at Vierumäki Golf Resort in front of the home crowd en route to winning three times in 2018 and graduating to the European Tour.
The event made its debut in 2001 and featured on the Challenge Tour International Schedule for three consecutive seasons before it returned eight years later in 2012 and has since become ever-present on the Challenge Tour.
