A host of the game's biggest stars wore Tiger Woods' trademark Sunday red to show their support after the 15-time Major champion was involved in a serious car accident.
Tiger Woods is one of the most popular players the game of golf has ever known and on Sunday at the WGC - Workday Championship at The Concession 2021, the players showed he is just as popular with his fellow professionals as he is with the fans.
The American sustained multiple leg injuries in a single-car accident in Los Angeles on Tuesday, with open fractures to the 45-year-old’s tibia and fibula and further injuries to his foot and ankle stabilised during surgery with the insertion of a rod, screws and pins.
The five time Masters Tournament champion has now been moved to a different hospital to begin his recovery and a twitter post said that he was in good spirits.
In the build up to the season's opening World Golf Championships event, a host of stars sent Woods their best wishes for a speedy recovery and on Sunday they went a step further, wearing the famous red and black that he traditionally dons on a Sunday and in which he has lifted so many of the game's biggest prizes.
Rory McIlroy got involved
Although he maybe could have called Scottie Scheffler to tell him exactly what shirt he would be wearing
Jason Day, Tommy Fleetwood, Tony Finau, Sebastian Munoz and Min Woo Lee were all paying tribute
Rory and Patrick Reed were part of an all red group
