A nearest-the-pin challenge with a difference, as DP World Tour stars are put in the unfamiliar position of being on the bag for their caddies and trying to offer them the advice and insight they are used to receiving.
This season marked the start of a ground-breaking partnership between DP World and the DP World Tour. While DP World’s smart logistics help global trade flow, the DP World Tour helps the global game grow. It’s a smart partnership that drives success. The partnership of player and caddie is the most important one in golf, but can the stars of the DP World Tour be just as smart a partner to their caddies when their roles are reversed?
We put them to the test on the second hole of the West Course at Wentworth ahead of the BMW PGA Championship in a closest to the pin challenge between the caddies, with their players on the bag. Offering varied advice on yardages, wind conditions and club selection, how well would the likes of defending champion Billy Horschel, Francesco Molinari, Shane Lowry, Bob MacIntyre, Min Woo Lee and many more be able to help their caddies and which unfamiliar partnership would come out on top in the Caddie Challenge?
