Suri still pinching himself after Denmark win

American Julian Suri admits his stunning Made in Denmark victory has yet to fully sink in but insists he will be "competing hard" at the D+D REAL Czech Masters this week.

The 26 year old claimed his maiden European Tour title in Farsø on Sunday, finishing four shots clear of nearest challenger David Horsey after a thrilling final-round battle.

Last week's win was Suri's second on European soil this season after his victory at the D+D REAL Czech Challenge on the Challenge Tour in May.

And Suri is delighted to be back in the Czech Republic for this week's event.

I think I'm slowly starting to realise with the stuff on my schedule that has opened up and it's a really cool feeling, that's for sure - Julian Suri

Speaking about last week's win, he said: "I don't think it's totally sunk in yet. It's been a couple of days and I've pretty much been on my phone constantly responding to all of the support from everywhere.

"But I think I'm slowly starting to realise with the stuff on my schedule that has opened up and it's a really cool feeling, that's for sure.

"There was a point halfway through the flight where I had a glass or two of champagne and I was kind of looking around and I was just like, I've got to pinch myself you know, it's a long way from where I came from so it's definitely steps in the right direction for sure.

"I love coming here, staying in Prague is very fun and there is always something to do, the place looks like a Disney movie, so it's a cool place.

"The game is feeling good obviously. Physically I'm not going to change anything, the biggest thing is kind of starting from scratch tomorrow when I tee off and just treating it like any other tournament and just going from there and competing hard."

Suri is impressed with the condition of the course at Albatross Golf Resort.

He added: "I played nine holes yesterday and the course is in awesome shape, there is pretty much not a piece of grass out of place.

"I think it's a good test. Off the tee you really have to hit it where you are looking and I like that it doesn't take driver out of your hands, you can still be aggressive but you know there are definitely some keynote holes there where if you miss it you will get punished."
