It was a case of third time lucky for Brandt Snedeker as the American won the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am after consecutive runner-up finishes on the US PGA Tour.
The Ryder Cup star, second to Tiger Woods at Torrey Points and Phil Mickelson in Arizona, finished with a seven under par 65 to win by two shots at Pebble Beach.
Snedeker pulled clear with a brilliant start – eagling the long second before birdies at the fourth, sixth and seventh.
A bogey at the ninth briefly threatened to derail his progress, but further gains at the tenth, 11th and 17th saw him finish with a 19 under par total.
Snedeker’s compatriot Chris Kirk was second after signing off with a 66, with Kevin Stadler, Jimmy Walker and James Hahn sharing third.
Swede Fredrik Jacobson finished as the top European after a 67 left him tied for seventh, with South Africa’s Retief Goosen also finishing in the top ten.
