Henrik Stenson eagled the par five tenth at Doha Golf Club to join Alvaro Quiros and Louis Oosthuizen in a share of the lead in the Commercialbank Qatar Masters Presented by Dolphin Energy as a thrilling finish unravelled.
The Swede – a winner here two years ago and runner-up to Adam Scott last season – moved to four under for the day and 16 under for the tournament with eight holes to play following his three at the 548 yard hole.
Big hitting Spaniard Alvaro Quiros – who led overnight after a magnificent third round 64 – was level par for the day at the same stage, while Oosthuizen birdied the tenth to reach 16 under as the trio looked set to do battle down the closing straight.
Holland’s Maarten Lafeber was on 14 under, two shots further back through ten holes.
The Dutchman produced birdies at the second and fourth to sit two under for the day.
Simon Dyson had set the clubhouse target at an 11 under par total of 277, although Damien McGrane was set to pass that – the Irishman was 13 under with one to play.
