The Staysure PGA Seniors Championship makes its return to the Staysure Tour’s International Schedule this week. Here are ten key statistics and facts before the action gets under way at London Golf Club.
2015 – the last time the event took place when Peter Fowler reigned victorious at Close House Golf Club three years ago.
Five – Senior Major Champions will be teeing it up at London Golf Club. Paul Broadhurst, winner of the 2018 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, Roger Chapman, who won the 2012 US Senior PGA Championship and U.S. Senior Open, 2004 Senior Players Championship champion Mark James, Tradition winner from 2007 Mark McNulty, and three-time Senior Major champion Colin Montgomerie.
Three – former Ryder Cup Captains are part of the field. James, who captained Europe in 1999, Montgomerie, the victorious 2010 captain, and triumphant 2014 European captain Paul McGinley.
16 – ex-Ryder Cup players will feature during the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship.
Four –days of high quality golf from the Staysure Tour will take place on the International Course of London Golf Club. It is the only occasion this year which the Tour features back-to-back four-day events, following last week’s Senior Open Presented by Rolex.
6,855 –yards is the length of the International Course the players will tackle at London Golf Club. The club is hosting the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship for the first time.
15 – players from the top of the 2018 Senior PGA Professional Championship will be teeing it up at London Golf Club.
60,000 – pounds is how much the winner will take home this week. It is part of a £400,000 prize fund.
60th – anniversary of the PGA Seniors Championship, as it returns under the new title sponsorship of Staysure. The trophy was first lifted by John Burton in 1957.
Ten – pounds for each car parked in the car park will go to Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
