Stars added to inaugural Hero Challenge

In-form SwedeAlex Noren, a two-time winner on the European Tour in 2016, and US Open Championship runner-upShane Lowryhave been added to the line-up for the inaugural Hero Challenge under floodlights at The Grove on Tuesday night.

The pair will join former World Number OneLuke Donaldand fans’ favourites Andrew ‘Beef’ Johnston andAndy Sullivanin the new one-hole knockout match play contest which takes place two days before the start of the British Masters supported by Sky Sports, over a specially constructed par three on The Grove’s 18th hole.

Completing the eight man line-up will be Austrian Bernd Wiesberger, Frenchman Alex Levy and India’s Jeev Milkha Singh, meaning six different countries will be represented in the shootout. Adding to the action will be a special one-hole celebrity shootout featuring TV personality Piers Morgan, singer Brian McFadden and cricketers Kevin Pietersen and Shane Warne.

Fans can be in the crowd for this unique event at The Grove by reservingFREE tickets viawww.applausestore.com, while the contest will also be televised live on Sky Sports from 7.30pm-8.30pm.

For the professionals, the winners from the four opening round matches will progress through to two semi-finals with the subsequent two winners contesting a final head-to-head match to decide the Hero Challenge champion. If the two opponents halve the hole, the outcome of that contest will be decided by the tee shot which was nearest to the pin.
