Ben Horner, Ricky Moran, David Alexander, Mark Brittan and Caitlin Dodd were given a behind the scenes tour of Wentworth Club on the opening day of The European Tour’s flagship event, meeting some of the world’s top golfers along the way.

In addition to The 2012 Ryder Cup Captain and two-time Masters Champion, they also met the reigning European Number One and US PGA Champion Martin Kaymer and Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen, caught up with John Daly and renowned coach John Jacobs on the range and were treated to a bunker lesson from 2006 BMW PGA Champion David Howell.

Matteo Manassero, the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year and one of the most exciting young talents in world golf, greeted the five Special Olympic athletes with George O’Grady, Chief Executive of The European Tour, and Anthony Scanlon, Executive Director of the International Golf Federation (IGF) who is spearheading golf’s return to the Olympics in 2016.

Julian Small, Chief Executive of Wentworth Club, and the Club Captain, Kent Pietsch, took the athletes around the club as they had their photos taken with a selection of trophies, they toured the Mizuno Workshop, and each received a 64 degree wedge to practice their own skills, and also visited the media centre during their visit.
