After an interesting 12 months on social media, the European Tour social media team have pulled together the best tweets, posts, pictures and GIFs from players and fans.

Featuring in the#ETPhotoOfTheYearwas this image of Alex Noren's hands after a long range session prior to the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. Taken by fellow Swede Kristoffer Broberg and posted to his Instagram account, it acted as a timely reminder of the dedication and hard work which goes into winning on the European Tour.

With 2.3 million views Louis Oosthuizen's hilarious lip-syncing video after this year's US PGA Championship was one of the most memorable of the season. Off the back of completing his grand slam of Major runner-up finishes, and in an attempt to keep his children entertained late on a late night flight, Louis' wife recorded his impressive lip-syncing of Andra Day's song Rise Up to a chorus of laughter from family and friends.

CONTRIBUTION TO GIFs - TOMMY FLEETWOOD'S CADDIE IAN FINNIS

In a season of many highs the "high-five fail" from Race to Dubai winner Tommy Fleetwood wasn't one. After closing his final round with birdie to secure solo second at the WGC- Mexico Championship, Fleetwood's close friend and caddie Ian Finnis proceeded to high-five Tommy's face. Yet another to add to the countless golfer/caddie celebration fails...
