Snedeker storms clear in Fiji

Brandt Snedeker extended his lead at the Fiji International to six shots as the final round got under way at Natadola Bay Golf Course.

The World Number 23 is the highest ranked player in the field and the eight-time winner on the US PGA Tour was living up to his top billing in the South Pacific.

Fresh off the back of winning three points out of three in the United States' Ryder Cup triumph, he opened with a 69 on Thursday after admitting he may need some time to get to know the course.

He soon made himself at home with a 65 in round two and a 70 in increased winds on Saturday saw him open up a three-shot advantage, which he extended in the first four holes of the final circuit.

Australia's Anthony Houston was the nearest challenger at eight under, a shot clear of New Zealand's Michael Hendry.

Snedeker birdied the first and when Houston dropped a shot on the second, the lead was up to five shots.

Another gain on the third then got the American to 14 under and at six strokes, his lead was beginning to look ominous.

Hendry was level par through four holes to sit a shot ahead of Australians Ben Eccles, Andrew Evans, Matthew Giles and Brett Rankin.

Robert Allenby turned in 32 to get to five under alongside fellow Australians Todd Sinnott and Josh Younger, and New Zealanders Gareth Paddison and Brad Shilton.
