Morrison makes marvellous ace

England's James Morrison got off to a phenomenal start on Thursday morning, following up birdies at the second and third with a hole-in-one from 142 yards at the fourth. He went on to sign for an opening 70. Well done, James.

McKibbin shoots sparkling 64 to lead the way

European Challenge Tour graduate Tom McKibbin started from the tenth tee on Thursday morning and carded three birdies on his front nine before coming home in 30 to reach eight under par and set the clubhouse target. The 20-year-old hails from the same part of Northern Ireland as Rory McIlroy and he said playing with the World Number One has been a valuable experience. Marcel Siem reached a big milestone on Thursday as he made his 500th DP World Tour appearance to join an elite group. The four-time winner, who also tasted victory on the European Challenge Tour in 2021, said: "I feel fit still, I love to play and compete out here. It’s awesome. 500 is quite a cool number.
